How it’s made

One game.
One material.

At Paléoh!, we’re not trying to make more. We’re trying to make better, with what already exists.
PALÉOH!
CREATED IN FRANCE
REUSED SWISS WOOD
Making the Paléoh! palet game from Swiss fir wood

We start from a simple material: Swiss fir wood, from offcuts that we give a second life.

01 / THE MATERIAL

Giving wood a second life.

Paléoh! is made from three-ply fir panels, a natural, strong material that’s pleasant to the touch.

The wood comes from Swiss supply chains. Part of our material also comes from offcuts collected from a company.

These offcuts already existed. Rather than letting them become waste, we give them a new purpose.

They become a playing surface, an object you bring out, share and keep.

A chosen material

The wood stays
visible.

We don’t try to hide the material. The grain, the shades and the small variations are part of each Paléoh!’s identity.

The wood brings its texture, warmth and character to every board.

Because an object made of wood should be able to tell something about the material it comes from.

02 / THE DESIGN

Three plies.
A structure designed for play.

The three-ply fir panel is the foundation of Paléoh!

Its construction gives a rigid, stable surface while keeping a reasonable weight for carrying.

The board is designed to fold, store and unfold quickly.

We tried to reduce the product to the essentials: a playing surface, a simple mechanism and everything you need to start a game.

03 / THE PALETS

Wood for the field.
EPDM for the game.

For the palets, we chose a material other than wood: EPDM.

This elastomer is valued for its strength, flexibility and ability to withstand repeated use.

This choice makes the palets pleasant to hold and well suited to the dynamics of the Paléoh! game.

The contrast between wood and EPDM is part of the experience: a natural material for the field, a technical material for the movement.

“

Wood gives the field. EPDM gives the movement. Together, they give birth to the game.

04 / THE HINGES

Fold.
Carry.
Play.

The hinges let the two halves of the board fold up after each game.

This detail answers a very simple idea: a good game should be able to come along with you.

In a car boot, in a garage, on a terrace or at friends’, Paléoh! stores easily and quickly takes its playing shape again.

The mechanism is deliberately simple: less complexity, more freedom.

05 / COLOUR

Colour,
without hiding the wood.

Colour gives Paléoh! its graphic identity.

The colours are spray-painted in successive coats for an even, bright finish.

We imagined a palette inspired by holidays, the sea, the sun and days spent outdoors.

The colours give the game its personality while still letting the wood show through.

HOW WE MAKE IT

From reclaimed wood
to the game.

01 / MATERIAL

Reclaim

We collect offcuts of three-ply fir panels to give them a new use.

02 / PREPARATION

Prepare

The pieces are selected, prepared and transformed into the different parts of the game.

03 / ASSEMBLY

Assemble

The hinges and the various parts are assembled so the game can fold and unfold.

04 / FINISH

Colour

Spray paint adds the Paléoh! colours and completes the game’s visual identity.

06 / DOING THINGS DIFFERENTLY

Simple making, but never trivial.

We believe an object can be simple without being simplistic.

Every choice counts: the material used, how it’s put to good use, the way the game folds, the feel of the palets in your hand and the colour you choose.

Paléoh! is designed as an object you keep, bring out again and pass on.

A game can carry traces of its history: a few marks, a few memories and above all lots of games.

Our way of making

Less waste.
More material.
More memories.

We don’t claim to reinvent the way objects are made.

We simply try to do better with what we have.

Swiss fir wood, offcuts we can put to good use, EPDM palets, a few hinges, colour and know-how.

That’s how we design Paléoh!

The material is ready.
Your turn to play.
